New York’s Dyanna Spa Tips on Waxing
In order to get the most out of your waxing experience at Dyanna Spa and waxing Center in Manhattan, it’s important to start with, “What is waxing”? Body waxing is a hair removal method for removing hair from its roots. Unlike the permanent hair removal process of electrolysis, body waxing is a semi-permanent method, which lasts anywhere from four to eight weeks. The more frequently you have a body wax, the finer and lighter the hair becomes and the easier it is to remove.Full body waxing is perfect for removing body hair. Because it removes hair from its roots, it leaves no stubbles. It’s an excellent hair removal choice for both men and women. One of the great benefits of waxing body hair is that the process can be used on almost any part of the body from facial hair, back hair, and chin hair, to leg hair, chest hair, and hair in the bikini area. There are various methods of waxing, including the two types of wax we use at Dyanna Spa; a soothing Azulene wax used with strips, and the strip-less Cirepil Blue Hard Wax for people with sensitive skin, for sensitive areas of the body, and for hard-to-reach areas.
At out day spa, we do the utmost to make you feel relaxed and comfortable and make every effort to minimize any discomfort.
There is nothing complicated about the waxing process but for it to be totally effective, it’s always best to have a professional esthetician do the body waxing. The steps are as follows.
- The esthetician trims the hair in the waxing area if it is too long.
- The wax is heated so that it spreads easily for waxing the body.
- When using our Azulene wax formula, the wax is applied in small sections with a wooden stick or spatula. (We subscribe to a policy of no “double dipping” for sanitary purposes. In order to keep the wax free from germs and bacteria, the wood stick is thrown away after each application of wax.)
- Cirepil Blue hard wax is applied by hand.
- Wax is applied evenly over the skin in the direction of the hair growth.
- Hair becomes embedded in the wax, which, when cooled, hardens with the hair adhered to it.
- For an Azulene waxing treatment, strips made of paper are placed over the wax and then quickly removed in the opposite direction of the hair growth, pulling hair out of the follicles along with dead skin cells.
- For our hard wax hair removal treatment, the same procedure is followed as with Azulene waxing, except that there are no strips. When this cool temperature wax hardens, the esthetician simply peels off the wax in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
- Every client is offered a soothing antibiotic lotion, which can be applied to the waxed area.
- The entire process takes between five to ten minutes, depending upon the size of the area you want waxed.
